Act Like A Ladi...Dress Like A Diva

Act Like A Ladi...Dress Like A Diva is a series showcasing my outfit of the day (OOTD).

This was a day out shopping with the boo (my fiancé). I chose a neutral color palette, and styled my hair by doing a braid-out.

I love looking at home decor, can't wait until I have my own home to decorate!

Fall Wish List: The Outerwear Edition

When the temperature outside drops and the wind picks up, outerwear becomes absolutely necessary.  That means that if you want to remain cute while keeping warm, you will need to express your fashion sense with your coat! I love a statement coat that fits well, is in a fab color, and has a standout element, be it an interesting belt or unique buttons. With color this season, I love shades of green or gray.  Both are great options if you are looking for a  neutral color and want to stray away from basic black or brown.  Here are some that I like:

I also love the look of a great motorcycle jacket.  Something about the exaggerated collars and exposed hardware screams "fierce" to me!

What's on your list to stay warm and fabulous this fall? Let me know in the comments!

Accessory Haul

I went out shopping with hopes to find an animal print scarf.  Most of the ones I found online were way too expensive so I figured I would try to find one locally.  I started off at the mall, and stopped in Body Shop/Body Central.  I don't usually go in there, but every time I do I always find some cute jewelry.  This time was no different, and all jewelry was on sale for $3.90!  I scored a few items, and then made my way to Ross where I found a cute scarf like I wanted for only $9.

Here's a close up of what I got:

Pigment & Lipstick: A Beauty Rookie on a Budget

I have to confess: I'm a beginner when it comes to makeup.  In addition, I'm also on a budget, which means that most of my beauty supplies come from the drugstore or an affordable online retailer.  The way I see it, there is no reason for me to spend $20 on a single makeup brush or $40 for an eyeshadow quartet when I barely know how to use the stuff!

With that being said, I bought a 15 piece makeup brush set on Amazon that had pretty good reviews:
It was only $18.  Also, I bought 88 Original Eye Shadow Palette from Coastal Scents.  It usually costs $18.95, but I got it on sale for about $15.

For the price, the eye shadows seem to be really pigmented and there are so many colors that I can create a ton of different looks.  Once I get the execution down pact, maybe I'll save up and experience the wonder that is MAC  : )

What's your favorite makeup product/brand?  What are some must haves for the beauty beginner? Let me know in the comments!

Act Like A Ladi...Dress Like A Diva

Act Like A Ladi...Dress Like A Diva is a series showcasing my outfit of the day (OOTD).

The first post in this series is a look I like to call "Ms New Booties."  I bought these amazingly cute brown booties by Seychelles and--like anytime I buy something new--I was dying to wear them.  This was the first look I came up with to show off the shoes.

Fall Wish List: Ladi Like Footwear

When the weather gets cool, my footwear of choice is a fabulous pair of boots.  They can be dressed down or dressed up, comfy yet stylish, and edgy but functional.

I need a cute pair of ankle booties.  Preferably with a wedge heel.

Next on my list is a pair of tall boots.  I have short legs so I'm not really into the over the knee or thigh high boots, but I love tall riding boots and mid-calf heels.

What footwear are you feelin' for the colder months? Let me know in the comments!

A Ladi's Tresses...My Hair Story, in Pictures

Like most young African American girls, I got a relaxer during early childhood and spent most of my life with chemically straightened hair.  I went from pigtails, to curls, to finally a sleek wrap.

After going off to college, I figured I needed a more grown up look and decided to cut my hair into a shoulder length bob.

From there, I guess I got a little scissor happy and decided to get bangs.
