Work It: Graphic Sweater & Lil' Red Pumps

There's a saying that goes "If you look good, you feel good." I can definitely notice a change in my mood since I've started wearing more business casual outfits to work. I feel more like a grown up with a "real" job, so I think I carry myself more professionally and confidently during the day.  Was that the motivation for implementing the new dress code? Hmm...

Also, I'm getting a chance to wear heels more often so hopefully I will start walking better in them and can  last a couple of hours before my feet start screaming! Speaking of heels, these are another pair from Sole Society.  For 4" heel with only a slight platform, they are very comfortable (although I don't have to do too much walking during the day), are crafted using genuine suede, and are a beautiful, deep red color.

On another note, Happy Valentine's Day! I'll do a post about my V-Day plans & outfit soon!

Prabal Gurung For Target: What Did You Buy?

The much anticipated Prabal Gurung for Target collection was released this past Sunday. If you're like me, you were chomping at the bit to get your hands on these neon, floral, and tropical print items. I usually do my grocery shopping on Sundays at Target, so I had an excuse to go out early and check out the collection in stores. The Target closest to my house was so disappointing...none of the times I really wanted were there! No pointy toe flats, no floral blazer, sweatshirt, shorts, or floral dress with the full skirt. The display was well stocked so it was obvious that those items just weren't carried in that particular store. I ended up just buying the sleeveless blouse in "first date" print (pictured). Later that day, I searched on Target.com and found that another close-by store had all the goods, so I headed over there to see what I could grab. That store had a lot of items in stock, but I only ended up getting the shirt dress in "nolita" print. I was this close to getting a peplum top but I decided against it to preserve my budget lol! I tried on the floral blazer but didn't love the fit (too long on me), same thing with the floral dress and the black short-sleeved "first date" print dress, the hem on both hit me below the knee which was too long for my taste.

Did you purchase anything from the collection? I'd love to hear about it!

Dress: Old Navy (similar) / Cardigan: Old Navy (similar) / Tights: Apostrophe (Kmart) / Flats: Old Navy (similar)

Today's outfit is another Spring inspired look. There was a rare warm (70 degree!) day so I took that opportunity to pull out a dress and show a little knee ;)

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas (If You Don't Want to Wear RED!)

Valentine's Day, one of the most loved and loathed holidays, is quickly approaching. The day of love, hearts, and kisses has turned many stores into a sea of reds, pinks, and teddy bears.  Whatever your plans are to paint the town red with your girls or channeling TLC's Red Light Special with your mate, you need a look that makes you feel your best. Despite my gratuitous use of the word red in this post, I purposely created 3 looks without using the color, instead focusing on shades of pink and purple (one of my favorite colors!).

Hope you like these looks! Do you have any plans for V-Day? If so, what are you wearing?

Flower Power (OOTD)

Blouse: H&M (similar1)(similar2) / Jeans: Old Navy / Boots: Steve Madden / Necklace: Torrid / Bag: Nine West (similar)

I love this floral blouse I got at H&M. The flowers conjure up images of Spring in my mind and make me feel so feminine and flirty.  I am more than ready for Spring weather and new Spring fashion, but until the sun shines and the flowers begin to bloom again, I will sprinkle my outfits with a bit of inspiration from the season.
